We are fresh back from Rarotonga, the tropical island laden with fruits, towering with volcanic mountains, gently vibrating with the colour and culture of some of the world’s friendliest people. Fringing the edges of the attol, leaning toward the glittering lagoon, are countless coconuts, the tree of life.
And on top of all this beauty, it is becoming our place of awakening, our karma island.
Last visit, new to the concept of energy architecture, Kris came to the realisation that his sense of self was bound up in his physical strength and that the two were tussling in the ailing area of his solar plexus chakra. A pretty classic masculine groove to be in. While I, not yet out of the first trimester, learned NOT to ride motor scooters when pregnant, he continued to open his eyes to this perception of himself as in some ways ego ruled, in some ways needing physical restoration.
This time, with our gifted land secured (so thankful), a Cook Islands Maori name bestowed on Sol by one of the former chiefs (unbelievably honoured), the message was loud and clear: KEEP IT REAL, KEEP IT SACRED.
And the headline words? RESPONSIBILITY and LIGHT.
This full moon in Scorpio asks just the same from us.
To go spelunking in the dark and fecund spaces of the soul using the light of the heart to guide you. And to claim responsibility for all that you find there.
Do you ever sense there is a disconnect between how you live in the world and who you feel you truly are?
If you feel:
+ dissatisfied in your work
+ misunderstood by your friends or family
+ unsure if you will find a relationship that allows you to be you
+ sluggish and doubtful about your talents
you feel that disconnection. The gulf between who you are and how you are being.
To bridge that gap and come to a place of union, you need to first shine a light on your true self. Instead of looking outwards for validation from your job, your relationships, the work you create in the world and how it is received, go within and deep down, into the caves of the soul and the subterranean regions of who you really are. This full moon is the perfect time to begin this process of fully, compassionately knowing yourself. It won’t be effected overnight. But each shift is a mini transformation in itself. Each step further into the lush, mysterious darkness and back out into the light is to be celebrated.
Remember to start the process from the heart space. Taking a long clear look at your self needn’t be fueled by self critique. Actually, another way of describing this work of deep self knowing is self love. Use the light of love and walk with responsibility towards a deeper understanding of yourself. Authentically own every part. Because true self love comes from taking responsibility for your life.
On the other side of responsibility lies response. On the other side of taking responsibility for your life, your self and your happiness lies the beauty of true heart based relationships. If you love and own all facets of your self, you can share that self honestly and clearly, without coming from a place of lack, need or dissatisfaction.
Mine the depths of your soul to begin to understand your treasures. Then love them and offer them to the world, in all their raw unpolished beauty. Harness the light of the moon to help you. This is your chance for transformation.
If you have any responses or want to share the fruits of your exploration, I’d love to hear in the comments below.
So much love, xo
