Delicious Brunch Crumble

Sundays can be sleepy, spectacular or both. Whatever vibe you’re running, this raw brunch crumble recipe, free of refined sugar and maxed out with goodness, deserves a starring role. With only three ingredients, it’s super quick to make and you might find yourself wanting it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And why not? Shake out the rug, grab some friends and a couple of books and enjoy.

Serves 4 for a small portion or 2 for a solid bowl of goodness

1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of honey
1 1/2 cups of ground flax seed

Melt the coconut oil and honey in a small saucepan and stir the flaxmeal through. Enjoy with fresh fruits and yoghurt or as a raw crumble topping.

Flaxmeal is a fantastic source of dietary fibre and antioxidants. It also provides stacks of omega 3 fatty acids, as well as B vitamins, magnesium and manganese, meaning it is great for healthy blood and cardiovascular system, stress relief and the building of healthy bones and skin. Coconut oil is just magic – antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, wonderfully supportive for healthy skin, cholestorol and blood sugar. If you’re in New Zealand, manuka honey will up the health profile of this dish, but any honey will give you a boost of anti-bacterials and antioxidants.
